As a committed environmental steward, Santee Cooper is proud to be the first electric utility in South Carolina to offer Green Power. This renewable power plant is also, the first of many more to come. But your participation is needed to keep this renewable energy project growing. Green Power is sold to residential customers in 100 kilowatt-hour blocks (about 10 percent of a typical household's monthly energy use). Purchasing 2 blocks per month has the same environmental impact as recycling 320 pounds of aluminum.

Green Power facilities are, in general, more expensive to install. Each block of 100 kiloWatt hours will add an extra $3 to your monthly electric bill. You may sign-up for as many blocks as you would like.
